Kegworth Town Cricket Club 2nd XI v Kirby Muxloe 1st XI on Sat 24 Apr 2010 at 1.30pm
Match was Drawn (Winning Draw 17 Points)

Match report The 2nd XI started their 2010 Everards Division Three campaign with a hard fought Winning Draw against Kirby Muxloe 1st X1 on Saturday and secured 17 points in an exciting game.

The visitors asked Kegworth to bat first in almost perfect conditions and the home side started brightly with runs coming freely before Luke Woolley (10) was bowled trying to pull a length delivery. Glyn Isaac (70) played in his usual agressive manner hitting numerous boundaries and was well supported by Jonathan Cantrill (25). Kegworth then wobbled as three quick wickets went down, but both Ian Dade (42 not out) and David Wall (41 not out) played superbly to post a competitive 245 for 5 wickets from the allotted 45 overs.

In reply Kirby lost an early wicket as Gareth Isaac struck, but recovered well and looked on course for victory through an excellent innings of 89 from Tom Bradley-Smith who was well supported by Dan Kinsey (25), Phil Dyer (25) and Tim Davis (23). However, the re-introduction of Isaac (5 for 95) who kept picking up wickets alongside Dade (2 for 38), Andrew Smith (1 for 23) and skipper Carl Sutton (1 for 25) saw the visitors stumble to 220 for 9 wickets and holding on for the draw in the closing overs.
