You Asked, We Delivered – New Outdoor Nets Coming for 2026!
The good news keeps on coming!!
Once again, feedback from the club survey has steered the committee in the direction that our members made clear was important.
As well as the clubhouse refurbishment, another strong message we received from our playing member respondents (junior & senior), was about the outdoor nets. They received an average rating of 2.05 out of 5.
The message was clear…our outdoor nets need improvement.
Members told us the surfaces were uneven, inconsistent, and desperately in need of refurbishment. You asked for a facility that supports both serious training and fun sessions for all ages.
And again, we’ve listened….
And with some very hard work by Carl Sutton and other committee members, we’re thrilled to announce that Kegworth Town Cricket Club has secured Section 106 funding from North West Leicestershire District Council and housing developer Crest Nicholson, to part-fund a complete refurbishment of our outdoor net facilities, with the club providing the rest of the funding, ready for the 2026 season!
This investment backed up with club funds means:
- Brand new net surfaces built to professional standards.
- New netting for improved safety and accessibility for all members.
- A better environment for junior and senior training alike.
We’ll share updates as the project progresses, including design plans, timelines, and opportunities for members to get involved in the build phase.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey, your feedback made this happen.
Together, we’re building for the future.
