Match report
Kegworth Town Under 13s recorded their 6th consecutive victory in an emphatic fashion at Loughborough Carillion Old Boys on Sunday.
The Old Boys won the toss & invited Kegworth to bat. Town started brightly but lost Alex Corrie for 6 with the score on 27 in the 5th. After a couple of well hit fours to the large boundary, Will Wade followed for 11 with the score on 61.
Chris Ellis was able to retire on 25, for the 4th consecutive game in the 10th with the score on 69.
Tom Williamson and Noddy Johnson continued the impressive innings. Noddy went for 11 in the 15th with the score on 101. Harry White was bowled for 6 in the 17th bringing in Will Such who scored a brisk 15 before being run out. The innings finished with 22 runs coming from an 11 delivery over with Tom Williamson carrying his bat on 23.
The Kegworth opening bowlers Wade and Ellis ran through the Old Boys top order. Chris struck first in the second over clean bowling his victim. In Will's second over three wickets fell in three balls. Firstly Will Such took a catch at mid off, then an attempted bye was thwarted by a direct hit from Ellis at fine leg before Will clean bowled the 4th batsmen to fall leaving the score at 6 for 4. More was to follow in the 4th over with Chris Ellis bowling a double wicket maiden (both batsmen clean bowled) to take the score to 6 for 6.
Further wickets fell to Michael Lynch, Nick Briggs and a run out before Will Such rounded off the innings for 23 from a sharp Ben Hooper stumping.
Overall a very good Kegworth performance, with all 11 players making a contribution either scoring runs, taking wickets or holding catches.
