Kegworth Town Cricket Club Experimental (Under 12's) v Cropston on Sun 14 Jun 2009 at 10.00am
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won By 10 wickets/62 Runs
Match report
ANother very good performance from the under 12s.
Corposton won the toss and elected to bat first. A solid bowling and fielding performace restricted Cropston to 233 for 7. Although Kegworth were not their usual chirpy self in the field, this was still avery good performance. Seb and George restricted their first pair to 221 for 1 with a beauty from Seb just clipping the batsman's off bail. Sam and Tyler then bowled 4 very tight overs keeping the score down to 229 for 3. Tyler bowled brilliantly and took 2 tickets in 2 balls with catches from Seb and Tom behind the stumps. Jacob and Owen then took over and took 2 wickets without Cropston adding to the score, with Jacob bowling one of the batsmen and a great run out by Seb adding to Cropston's woes. Into the final 4 overs and Timmy bowled 2 very hostile overs for 3 runs, George nabbed a wicket and Owen finally took a very deserved wicket with a catch by Seb.
A brilliant batting display then followed with Kegworth not losing a wicket in their 16 overs. Sam and George got us off to a great start adding 29 in the first 4 overs, with 2 glorious straight drives for 4 from Sam and George chipping in with 6. Seb and Tyler then added a further 25 runs in 4 overs, with 3 boundaries. Timmy and Jacob then belted 23 runs from 4 with Timmy top scoring on 17,before Tom and Owen added 18 in the last 4 to take Kegworth to 295 for 0.
A resounding vistory against a young Cropston team. Everyone of teh team deserved the Man of the Match award, but it was awarded to Owen Barker for stoic defence with the bat, and some wonderfully accurate bowling.
