Match report
You win some, you lose some....
An early start, a gloomy day and a good hour and a bit drive! Things didn't start to well. However, the skipper was positive a game of cricket would be played.
KTCC has a young side out, lots of opportunities were available.
Arriving at the beautiful location of Wiseton CC there were sad faces! A soft wet, grassy wicket, a steady rain and no sign of a start.
Thankfully the rain eased, Rob (the Wiseton skipper) and I agree we would play. Thank you Wiseton, I know the game couldn't have been kind of your wicket!
Winning the toss, Weedon chose to bowl. With the conditions as they were it made perfect sense.
J Harding and J field got us of to a great start 16 overs we were looking in a great position... As the partnership of Peatfield and Loates grew, so did their shots! Poor Mr Amor got put a very long way over the sight screen.
The younger player, both answering to the name of Jack fielded very well and gave it their all.
A sloppy last 20 cost KTCC as Wiseton posted a score of 224... for this wicket a MASSIVE target...
A reduced batting line up had Weedon and Amor opening.... needless to say it was Weedon who threw his wicket away first.
Starts with the bat G Isaac (24), J Harding (21) and R Bullock (19).
Not a nice game to make your debut but Bullock kept very well and used his bat effectively. J. Lewis-Roberts bowled a nice line and fielded with gusto. Mr Purdew was unlucky to be ran out backing up too far!
Although nomination were not made,
Man Of The Match: J. Harding , once again for brilliant bowling and a good batting effort!
(Nominees; G. Isaac, R. Bullock, J. Field)
T**T of the Match: A. Blackhall – 3 Wild shays at the stumps, trying to bowl to fast/short. (And he apparently should have won it last week!)
(Nominees; L. Weedon - batting? J. Field – Catches!)
