Match report A young Kegworth Town U13B side took on the might of Barrow Town for the first game of the season. All who played performed very well giving 100% and adopted a positive attitude towards both the game and each other.
Barrow Town batted first and were restricted to 123 for 1 off 20 overs. This was due to some fine bowling, excellent fielding by all and wicket keeping by Josh Gillman. Barrow Town hardly made any mistakes, hence only losing 1 wicket in the last over of the innings to an excellent ball by Matthew Holt.
The young guns came out to bat with Carter Walker and Harry Gilby opening. Despite the inexperiance at this level Kegworth Town managed to get an impressive 74 for 6 off the allotted 20 overs. Although Kegworth Town fell short of their target they batted well and managed to hold off the Barrow Town attack.The highlight of the innings was an impressive straight drive by Josh Gillman for the only boundary of the innings and a Mexican wave by watching parents!!
