Loughborough Town 'B' v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Under 13's B on Sun 07 Aug 2011 at 10:00am
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Lost by 17 runs
Match report
Kegworth travelled to Loughborough Town for their return fixture, having narrowly lost to them earlier in the season the team were hoping for another tight match.
Loughborough Town opened the batting using only 4 batsmen in total to score a respectable 112 in total. The only wicket came on the final ball with George Jones stumping Loughborough Towns Finn off a superb spin ball from Anthony Berridge.
Kegworth came into bat but with Loughborough Town bowling well they were unable to get the run rate going. George Lacey made his highest total of the season before being run out and George Jones followed soon after being bowled. Guy Lorraine came in at number 3 and batted his career high of 24 and looked like he might retire until he was run out. Joe Hampson and Ben O'Neill had good knocks scoring 8 and 7 respectively. Henry Jones was unable to get off the score sheet today with an ambitious run taken he was run out. Jamie Shore had a lovely 4 before being bowled for 5. The final 2 overs were left to Anthony Berridge and Max Lawson. As with Loughborough's innings, the final ball saw Anthony stumped. Max was not out for 3. Harry Gilby did not get to bat but fielded well.
Despite the loss, many of the team again showed continued improvement and with 4 of the team officially under 11's it was a respectable scoreline. It was also a game played in good sporting spirits. Man of the match went to Guy Lorraine for his great batting innings.
