Broomleys v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Experimental (Under 12's) on Sun 13 Jun 2010 at 10:00am
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won Won by 3 runs

Match report After last week's washout, Kegworth were pleased to see the sun shining on their away game with Broomleys.

Kegworth batted first, with Mitch Mosley and Jacob Consterdine (JC) opened. The pairing finished on 241 with no loss of wicket. JC scored 8 runs and Mitch scored 1. Wides were plentiful making runs difficult for both batsmen. Owen Hennessey and George Kenning were next into bat. The 5th over was a maiden with that Broomleys bowler giving little away. Both batsmen struggled to run with the other bowler giving 5 wides in his 2 overs. Both defended their wicket well. George Jones and Dan Lewis-Roberts were next in and faced some more experienced bowlers. George hit a lovely 4 followed by 2 runs. Dan was unfortunate to be bowled 3 times. Harry Lawson and Josh Faulks were the last pair in and again faced more experienced bowlers who only gave away 2 wides in the four overs. Harry scored 10 not out and Josh scored 6 before being caught.

Kegworth were in positive spirits going into bowl. Harry and Mitch were the first pairing. Harry was solid with 11 runs off his first 2 overs. Mitch bowled both batsmen in the 2nd and 4th over. Owen and JC were next to bowl. The Broomleys batsman was caught by JC and bowled by Owen in the 5th over. Both had a solid bowl. Dan and George Kenning were the third pair. In his first game of the season for Kegworth Dan had some nice straight balls with just a few wides. George K continues to improve with only 1 wide and no runs in the 10th over. Josh Faulks bowled well with few runs and only a couple of wides. Mitch and Harry both took the additional over and Mitch took his third wicket bowling and catching the batsman.

Despite the close score, Kegworth always looked the stronger side. Their bowling and fielding was much improved with all players calling and supporting each other. In a game in which it was difficult for the batters to shine, man of the match had to be awarded on the bowling and fielding and therefore had to be awarded to Mitch Mosley for his superb 3 wickets.

Well done to all, a very enjoyable game of cricket.
