Kegworth Town Cricket Club Experimental (Under 12's) v Thorpe Arnold on Sun 30 May 2010 at 10:00am
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won By 43 runs

Match report George Jones took on the captaincy this week with neither Harry Lawson or Mitch Moseley available.

Kegworth bowled first with Timmy Berridge and Will Cockerill opening. Thorpe Arnold started strongly with a 4 off the first ball, but were bowled twice by Will Cockerill and a run out by George Jones in the second over. Timmy also took 2 further wickets in the third, one being an excellent catch by Owen Hennessey. Thorpe Arnold's 6th wicket was lost in the 4th over to Will Cockerill. Jacob Consterdine (JC)bowled and ran out the batsman in the 6th over and Owen Hennessy bowled a batsman in the 7th. Jc then went on to bowl another batsman in the 9th over. At the half way mark, Thorpe Arnold were on 181 for 9 wickets. Mitch Williams bowled his first over with Timmy Berridge taking the catch. George Kenning again showed improvement with his bowling and took a wicket with Mitch Williams taking a finger tip catch to make it 11 wickets in the 12th over. Sam Trickett came in to bowl in the 13th over and almost had a maiden over. Mitch had his third over taking Thorpe Arnold's 12th wicket and Timmy finished the innings with a maiden over. There was some good fielding and teamwork throughout the innings.

Opening Kegworth's batting were Sam Trickett and Will Cockerill. Both were not out and had a partnership of 9 runs. The second pair in were George Kenning and Owen Hennessey. George made his first run of the season and called runs well. Both were unlucky to be bowled. George Jones and JC were next in to bat and after a maiden over in the 9th over had a good pairing of 9 runs. George was caught (he says it was the winds fault!). Mitch Williams and Timmy Berridge were the last pair in to bat. Timmy had a great bat scoring 14 runs including 2 fours (there was some debate whether one was a six!). Mitch also hit a four and he too was unlucky to get caught (must have been the wind again!).

All the team played extremely well with some good calling to each other, backing up when fielding and much improved bowling. There were less wides and less lost wickets. Man of the match could have gone to any of the team as all were on form today, however man of the match went to JC for his all round good performance.
