Queniborough v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Experimental (Under 12's) on Sun 23 May 2010 at 10:00am
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Lost By 52 runs
Match report
On a gloriously sunny morning Kegworth batted first. Sam Trickett and Mitch Moseley were the first pair in and batted solidly. No wickets were lost and they ended their pairing on 210. George Kenning and Owen Hennessey were next in and again batted solidly. Owen scored a boundary and a single with George defending his wicket well against some good bowling. Josh Faulks and Jacob Consterdine were next in, Josh hit a boundary as well as taking 3 other runs. Jacob ran 4 singles and a two in his first game of the season for the experiemental squad. Playing the LBW rule today, meant that Josh was out in the 10th over. The final pair of George Jones and Joe Hampson batted well as a pair, taking singles and runs off wide balls. In the final over the bowler took Joe out LBW and bowled George.
Jacob was the first to bowl and by his second over he was getting his eye in taking a wicket. Mitch bowled well in all three of his overs with no wides and only 9 runs off him. Sam and Owen's bowling met some strong batting with the opposition ending their pairing on 256. Josh bowled well with only one wide stopping him from bowling a maiden over in the 9th. Joe started well with a maiden over in the 10th. George Kenning's second over was his best with no wides in that over. Mitch and Josh both bowled the extra overs with Josh taking a wicket in the 16th.
On what was a very hot day, the team tried to remain positive despite the rapidly increasing scoreline of the opposition. Playing the LBW rule did not work in our favour today, but was a valuable experience.
Man of the match went to Mitch Moseley for his captaincy and having a very solid bat and bowl.
