Kegworth Town enter South Notts Development League in 2026...

Kegworth Town CC is delighted to announce our acceptance into the South Nottinghamshire Development League for the 2026 season.

Following consultation with the Support Staff at Nottinghamshire County Cricket, we were encouraged to enter a side that fits the needs of the club at this stage of our development, particularly with our current group of players transitioning from junior to senior cricket.

The South Notts League created an extension of their popular Saturday league to provide a structured Sunday development offering, specifically aimed at supporting young cricketers, and the league reported great success throughout 2025, with fixtures played in the right spirit and strong participation.

The 2025 format included the following key stipulations:

• Maximum of four senior players (18+)
• Seniors to retire at 35 runs
• No more than two seniors batting together in the top seven
• 32-over format unless both captains agree to a longer game

While the exact format for 2026 is still being finalised, we expect some minor adjustments to the above framework.

Our entry guarantees 14 organised fixtures against seven like-minded clubs.
All matches will take place on Sundays, with seven at home and seven away.
Our away fixtures will be against local clubs within Gedling, the City of Nottingham, and villages surrounding Kegworth.

Full details will be shared in early 2026.

We look forward to strengthening our pathway for young cricketers and fully incorporating the Sunday Team into our senior structure.
