Overseas Player / Senior Captains / Indoor Nets / Junior Coaching

16 Jan 2020

On behalf of Kegworth Town Cricket Club I hope you all had a happy and enjoyable Christmas and New Year.

2020 looks set to be one of the most important and exciting years in the club’s history. We embark on another season in the Leicestershire and Rutland Premier League with a new captain and overseas player. South African Matthew Montgomery a batting all-rounder who is studying at Loughborough University will be joining us having recently captained his U19 national side in India. We also welcome back several members who will support the growing number of talented players in our 2nd and 3rd teams.

Captains for the forthcoming 2020 season have been confirmed by the Management Committee.

As previously announced in October Gareth Isaac will lead the 1st XI in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League Premier Division.

Sam Fenn continues as 2nd XI captain and will be looking to improve on last year’s 8th place finish in Division 4 West.

George Marrable continues at the helm of the 3rd XI who will again play some of their home games at Sutton Bonington in Division 9 Central.

I would like to wish our captains an enjoyable and successful 2020.

Having been Chairman for nearly a year, I now realise how big the task is to keep the club moving forward. We are committed to improving the changing facilities, creating a new seating/spectator area, maintaining an excellent playing surface, enhancing the quality of junior coaching and developing greater links with the local community. We have a wide range of Sponsorship opportunities available, if you or your workplace is interested please contact Sarah Widdowson or Charles Morris.

As a club we will always need extra help and volunteers to spread the workload and if anyone is interested in helping out in any capacity please let us know. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who work together to make Kegworth Town Cricket Club a welcoming and thriving club.

Winter well everyone and the season will be with us before we know it.
