Kegworth Town hosted the Area Finals of the ECB Vitality Club T20 competition on Sunday hosting teams from Northamptonshire, Birmingham & District and Home Counties.

In an exciting first semi-final, Kegworth progressed to the last 16 teams in the country with a 38 run victory over
Finedon Dolben CC from the Northamptonshire League, with highlights being George Scottorn with 65, Seth Jackson with a quickfire 24 and Gareth Isaac taking 3 for 19 with the ball.

In the second semi-final, Berkswell CC from Brmingham & District eased to a 7 wicket in over Banbury CC from the Home Counties.

That meant the last 16 clash was Kegworth CC vs Berkswell CC

Batting first, Berkswell scored 174 for 7, Seth Jackson, Will Wade and Jack Bull with 2 wickets each

In reply, Kegworth lost Scottorn early but Albert Grieve (20), Scott Moore (19) and Adam Meads (24) took the attack to the Berkswell bowlers.

In the end, the bowling of Berkswell proved too strong and Kegworth were bowled out for 99.

A very admirable performance from Kegworth, who can all be very proud of their achievement in making the last 16 of a National competition. Well done to Jordan Holmes and his team.

As the day was hosted at Kegworth, special mention to the team of volunteers that helped on the day with car parking, food preparation, ground work and serving at the bar. We have a great group of volunteers who did the club proud.
