This winter, Kegworth Town Cricket Club will be commencing a new initiative aimed at helping young players bridge the gap between Junior and Open Age cricket.
The Kegworth Town CC Winter Performance Squad will consist of six indoor training sessions, hosted at Loughborough Grammar School and taken by the Tom Flowers Cricket Coaching, and one classroom session, and will be aimed at equipping 8-10 players with some of the skills needed to enhance their cricket in 2017 and beyond.
The sessions will occur between the 9th October 2016 and the 4th December 2016 (dates at the bottom of the page), with coaching sessions taking place on Sunday mornings between 9:30 and 11:00.
If you are interested in being part of this performance squad, please declare your interest as soon as possible to Adam Meads (adam_meads99@hotmail.co.uk). Once we have a list of interested players, the final squad will be selected by a group of KTCC coaches and senior captains.
Players must meet the following criteria:
- Be 13 years old or older on the 1st September 2016
- Be 17 years old or younger on the 1st September 2016
- Have played Open Age cricket for Kegworth Town CC in the 2016 season or commit to playing Open Age cricket for Kegworth Town CC in the 2017 season
The costs of the training sessions will be split between the club and the players involved. The final cost of the sessions in to be determined but we expect to have this figure available before the selection of the squad.
