Match report A comprehensive vistory against a young Rothley side who are yet to win a match this season.

Rothley won the toss and batted first. Some very tight bowling and great fielding restricted them to 193 for 3 off the first 4 overs, with Will Cockerill not having a run scored off the bat as he bowled 2 overs including a wicket maiden. Dan Lewis ROberts weighed in with a wicket maiden and a magnificent direct hit from Ben O'Neill really pegged Rothley back.

Sam and Amber bolwed next against their strongest pair, and restricted them to just 10 runs in 4 overs. Myles and Tom then bowled 4 overs, taking 4 wickets with some great fielding including hand stinging cathces from Myles and Will, a run out from Myles and Tom Smith, and a catch behind the stumps from George Jones. In teh final 4 overs we restricted them to 215 for 9 with ben bwoling 2 steady overs for 10, and Amber and Sam bwoling teh extra overs, with a wicket for Amber and a great throw from Will gaining a run out of the last but one ball of the innings.

So, in restricting Rothley to 215 for 9 we knew we had a great chance to win, but still had to look after our wickets and knock the runs off.

Sam and Tom opened and took us to 224 for 0 with some great shots, with Tom contributing 14 runs with 2 boundaries. The second pair of Myles and Ben took the score on to 235 for 1, with Myles being caught of teh last ball of their four overs. George and Amber then played a Brigadier Block style innings that must have inspired Paul Collingwood, facing 4 overs without giving any chances and taking teh score to 242 for 1. WIll and Dan faced the last 4 overs and despite losing a wicket early on nudged the score on to 250 for 2 with Dan hitting a particularly good boundary.

A great performance all round, with great captaincy from Sam W, brilliant bowling from Amber and Will, and catches and run outs from Myles, Will, George, Tom and Ben. Dan and WIll played probably their best ever games for Kegworth that on another day would jhave one them Man of the Match, but one player stood out. With 14 runs. figures of 3 for 9 and a run out, It had to be Tom Smith!!

Well done to the team for winning their 2nd hardball match of the season, a great team effort.
