Chilwell v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Newark Alliance XI on Sun 16 Aug 2009 at 2pm
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won by 68 runs

Match report Chilwell vs Kegworth - Sunday 16th August 2009.
Cricket weather is here again! A warm sunny day... brilliant!
Following a heavy defeat to fellow promotion challengers Fastlane last Sunday, captain Weedon was keen to assert authority and intent towards division 5 cricket next season.
Chilwell play on a new ground with a very nice new pavilion, lush outfield, only marred by clumps of grass cuttings. The wicket was grassy, brown and hard with a massive crater on a good line and length for the left hander, unlucky Trevis.
After winning the toss, Kegworth decided to set a score. Openers J. Cantrill and L. Woolley started well and after 10 overs KTCC were 60 without loss.
Woolley was the first wicket to fall which made way for C. Trevis to start his best ever innings for Kegworth.
With an array of cuts, pulls, drives and moos, Trevis recorded his highest ever score in any form of cricket it an innings that can only be described as fault and chanceless...... until he was bowled.
Good run contributions from R. Purdew and H. Amor but the rest of the batting line up was woeful! 4 ducks! Isaac, Day, Collington and Weedon.
The wicket of Gareth Isaac has been described as “The funniest thing I’ve ever seen”
- A diving low one handed catch at short fine leg that come of the middle of Gaz’s bat!
Final score of 208 for 9. The 8th bowler used by Chilwell (Oliver) took 6 for 12 of 4 overs!
TEA: SUPERB! A tremendous cornucopia of sandwiches , savouries, cakes, crisps and little marsh mellow things.. It’s defiantly in my top 3 of teas this year!

Isaac and Harding opening the bowling for Kegworth. Jet taking 3 early wickets bowling some pearls! Isaac unlucky to have one dropped at gully! (Henry use your hands to catch, not your chin!)
D.Day 1st change; got whacked, but did come up against their main batsman who was swinging the willow.
C.Day bowled really well, got the opening batsman Wooliscroft out bowled.
With the score for Chilwell at 89 of 15 overs, Weedon decided to take the pace of the ball so Woolley and Weedon the only 2 recognised SPINNERS in the team came on. Woolley immediately getting wickets! 3. Weedon getting 2 both flighted off spinners pitching outside off and turning back through the gate to clatter the stumps.
H. Amor......... The Bowler........ Grabbed the last wicket with a great delivery to present C. Day with an opportunity to take a stunning one handed catch.
Fielding Highlights in Brief:
- C. Day 3 catches
- H. Amor taking one on the chin
- L. Woolley trying to catch one with his belly.
- L. Weedon signalling to the umpire it was 6, even though it went so far over the boundary it was in the housing estate.

Chilwell all out for 140.

Well done boys 4 points...... 4 games to go.
Man of the Match: Chris Trevis – Batting Masterclass
Tw*t of the Day – (After much consideration) Luke Woolley for calling a batsman back after being caught behind saying “You’re not out mate; it hit your pad first!”
