Match report A very enjoyable game against a very young Sileby team who played the game with a smile on their faces.

With 3 of our regular players missing we drafted in Ben O'Neill, Sam Wildgust and Josh Faulks who all equipped themselves very well. Well done and thanks to them.

We were put in to bat having lost the toss, and Nic and Mikey soon set about their side both scoring 25 not out and retiring. Tom then scored a patient 8 and George a quick 12 before we lost them to consecutive balls. Firstly George was run out after being called for a single and then sent back by Tom, who chipped one to mid off the very next ball. Alex and Tyler then scored 6 and 7 respectively with Tyler playing the shot of the match, with a lofted drive over extra cover for 4. Tim added a quick 14 not out at the end to help us to 114 for 4 at the close of our innings. An impressive bowling performance from Sileby saw them concede only 15 extras.

When Sileby batted we saw a very good opening spell from both Josh and Mitch with only 25 coming off the first 6 for the loss of 1 wicket. Mitch bowled particularly well with figures of 3 overs 1 maiden, 1 wicket for 4 runs. Ben and Sam W then bowled 2 overs a piece, both conceding 14 runs, with Ben taking a wicket when their number 3 holed out to Alex Davies at mid off. Tim and Alex then bowled 2 overs each conceding just 6 runs between them, with Alex taking the wicket of their opener when they stepped back onto their stumps. George and Tyler then bowled 3 with a run out off George's bowling after some sharp glovework by Tom. This left Tim and Josh to bowl the last 2 overs with Josh getting his reward in the last over when he bowled Sileby's number 6.

Well done to all the team for a very professional performance, but especially well done to Nic and Mikey for their opening partnership, Mitch for some superb bowling and to the 3 U11s for stepping into the team seamlessly. Man of the Match was awarded to Tom Waterfield for a good innings and some tremendous glovework. One run out and only 2 byes today, capped a superb performance from one of teh unsung heroes of the U13 team. Well done Tom!
