Scorecard

Sileby Town 'A' v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Under 13's on Sun 17 May 2009 at 10.00am
Match was Abandoned With Kegworth 100 for 5

Match report Sileby won the toss & invited Town to bat. Both openers fell clean bowled in the second over which ended with Kegworth on 4 for 2.

Noddy Johnson led the recovery ably supported by the Captain Will Wade. The halfway point of the innings was reached with the score on 48 for 2.

Noddy was the first to retire having reached 25, in the 11th over with the score on 55 and Will followed him in the 14th over with the score on 75.

The innings stuttered slightly with 3 wickets falling in four overs whilst the score advanced to 90 but as the rain began to fall Alex Corrie and Michael Lynch took the score to 100 with two balls remaining of the innings.

At that point the rain came down more heavily and the players came off the field unfortunately not to return. A disappointing end to the game, with Town probably holding the upper hand with their above par score.

A sign of the progress the under 13’s have made this season is that last year, the second highest player in the batting averages Chris Ellis had an average of only 7.6, whilst this season five batters (Wade, White, Johnson, Davies and Ellis) have averages in double figures.
