Loughborough Greenfields v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Under 13's on Sun 06 Jul 2008 at 10:00
Match was Abandoned After First Innings due to a man in a Green jacket (& presumably an impressive set of keys)

Match report Does anyone have a phone number for the Guinness Book of Records?

Cricket match played during heaviest rainfall?

For the second week in a row Kegworth bowled first and took early wickets, having Greenfield at 5 for 3 (folowing from 12-3 last week, final score 153 for 8).

Things remained tight for some time (24-3 after 11 overs) but some indifferent overs in the heavy rain resulted in a 56 run partnership for the fourth wicket (although this included 28 from wides).

Wickets fell again in the final four overs (three wickets for 10 runs), with Will Such finally getting support from the field (an excellant catch from "Noddy" Johnson).

Unfortunately the play in heavy rain was for nought as a man from the council arrived & in considerably better conditions than experienced earlier play was abandoned for the day.

This denied the crowd the answer to the question on everyones lips, "Without Will Coutts could Kegworth get 72 runs". Unfortunately we'll never know.
