Long Whatton v Kegworth Town Cricket Club Under 11's Hardball on Fri 11 May 2007 at 6:00pm
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won Kegworth won by 9 Runs

Match report The game started with Kegworth Town winning the toss and electing to bat first, in the pouring rain. The innings began well with a good opening paired partnership of 14 between Ben Hooper and Nic Briggs followed by a similar partnership involving Will Such and Josh Carroll. Wickets fell at regular intervals though and the innings finished on a par score of 46 from 16 overs. It started well when Kegworth were bowling, Harry White and Will Such keeping it tight, picking up three wickets in 2 overs between them. A number of wides brought Long Watton back into it during the middle overs but another Such wicket, his third of the innings, and some sharp fielding from Sam O’Neil left the home side needing 4 to win off 4 overs. A tight maiden from Chris Ellis kept Kegworth in it and a well-made run out between Josh Carroll and Ben Hooper (wicketkeeper) put Kegworth in a winning position. With the batsmen needing to attack Will Wade and Ellis picked up a wicket each and took Kegworth past the finishing post, winning by 9 runs.
