Kegworth Town Cricket Club Lost by 7 Runs

Match report Newtown Linford won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 92 for the loss of 5 wickets. The young Kegworth side bowled and fielded well, keeping the opposition to under 100 runs. All catches were held including difficult ones taken by Max Lawson and George B-S. All bowlers bowled well and managed to keep the number of wides down to a minimum, this was a key factor along with the accurate bowling in limiting the Newtown Linford score. Special mention to Ben O'Neill for taking 3 Wkts and Joe Hampson for some very accurate and restrictive bowling.
In response Kegworth replied with a good innings falling 7 runs short of the required target. Ben O'Neill (15 Not out) and Joe Hampson (11 Not Out) both batted very well supported by a fine knock from Harry Gilby.
Overall a good first match particularly as the team was made up from a number of U13 players..well done. Man of the match Ben O'Neill for an excellent all round performance.
