Kegworth Town Cricket Club Under 13's v Loughborough Carillon on Sun 06 May 2012 at 10:00
Kegworth Town Cricket Club Won By 10 wickets

Match report A very satisfying first game of the season, comprehensively won.

We lost the toss and Carillon elected to bat first.

From the first to the last over of their innings we kept them under pressure, and they never really got going, despite their number 3 scoring 25 from 23 balls.

A combination of ferocious bowling from Mitch Williams (4-1-14-2), accurate bowling from Will Cockerill (3-0-8-0) and Tom Henson (4-0-17-0), and bamboozling bowling from Myles Faulks (4-0-8-1) kept them pegged back. Harry Clifford chipped in with 1 for 9 from 2 overs on debut for Kegworth, and Elliot Turner took 2 great catches, the 2nd of which would grace the highest level.

So at the change of innings the team had restricted Carillon with a combination of great bowling and superb fielding.

When we batted, it was a tale of contrasting style as George Jones stroked the ball around for his 18 not out and Mitch bludgeoned 27 not out before retiring, allowing Tom Henson to come in and score 10 not out. All 3 batsmen followed the plan to perfection and the game was won with 6.1 overs to spare.

So all in all, a very satisfying result, as Carillon were never in the game.
